This place ended up being great! My fiance and I have been in Detroit area for a few days and as we were getting ready to leave town and get on I-75 south back to Ohio, we were just looking for anything we saw to eat. So back in Cincinnati, we have a big chili culture and the Coneys fit into that as they are usually covered in chili and cheese. Last time I was transferring out of Detroit Metro Airport, I noticed a big restaurant there that was all about Coney Island. So as we are driving through Allen Park to get to I-75, we see this place on the side of the road and say, yes! Must have breakfast there. I knew it wasn't the same one that we saw at the airport but I imagine there's a lot of different places around here that use the Coney Island title. We get there and you can tell this place has been around for decades. The restaurant was still very cozy though and very homey. It looks it! It was so busy and full and we were able to get a booth right away thankfully. You could just tell that everyone there had been coming for such a long time and it was such a local institution. Our waitress was super friendly and literally she just made our morning! I had the chili omelette which actually was just really delicious. Really good chili! Not quite as good as Cincinnati style chili though My fiance had one of the Coney dogs and he thoroughly liked it! It's good to pay with cash here as they do not take cards but there is an ATM machine. Parking on both sides of the restaurant as well. Highly recommended for a good breakfast although they had lots of stuff on the menu that I would love to try someday.

We all know the insane number of "family diners" around here with the EXACT SAME MENU. The same dinners items, the same "Greek twist" with gyros, saganaki, greek salad... and the coney dogs, omelets, skillets... all these places serve EXACTLY the same stuff around here. But I can say as someone whos had a greek chicken salad from EVERYWHERE that their chicken and feta and Greek dressing are THE BEST downriver. I always get extra feta, but most of the time if I ask for it when I order. I get charged $1.75 or so for extra and I know it's the normal amount so sometimes I have to be a pain in the servers butt and ask for almost $2 worth of extra feta after she brings our food but.... that's not my fault just don't order extra and expect extra. Also, their cup of soup and bowl of soup is basically the same amount like most restaurants in the area. If they bring you a cup of soup, ask for a bowl... pour it into the bowl and you'll see.

We went here for breakfast before a Tigers game on a Saturday. Our family of 5 was seated immediately. Our waitress Maria was friendly and efficient. The food was good and hearty. The prices are incredibly low!! We had 5 adult meals and paid $56!! Note: they are CASH only. Thanks for a great meal before our game!!

We've dined here 3 times so far. Fast service. Good place to go if you're on your lunch break and don't have a lot of time. So far everything we've ordered has been on point. The biscuits and gravy are out of this world. Saganaki is crisp on the outside, gooey on the inside. Really good! The French Toast is also pretty tasty. Cash only but there's an ATM in the parking lot.
